Dessert: Mango Pudding

Right at the entrance of the subway station is the heaven of the hawkers, with quite a lot of them selling fruits. 4 mangoes for 10 RMB is a really good deal, isn’t it? I bought 9 with 20 bucks, good and tasty! It’s real lucky that I didn’t get diarrhea.

Even I love mango, but will eventually get bored after having 9. At the same time, the word “Mango Pudding” appears in my head, then why not going to make some? I have the mango…now what?

Little Typhoon and Chewing Gum

The table between the boss and the admin. assistant is always filled with snack. Some days ago, a new bottle of chewing gum has been bought to replace the empty one.

And this time the packaging is really interesting, mimicking how the old MarkSix drawing machine works, I mean the old that looks like a little Typhoon.

煎炒煮炸的英文是……

還有生菜、白菜、大白菜、娃娃菜、黃芽白…

還有紅燒、干燒、黃鱔、白鱔…還有一些地道上海菜的名字。

事源是一間相熟餐館要擴張營業換新菜譜,某天光顧的時候,老闆娘就問我們能否出手相助,幫忙把中文的菜譜翻譯一下。這幾天我實在太閒,所以就答應了。

還好這個世界有Google和Wikipedia,花了整個周末總算譯了一遍,再跟老闆娘確認一下菜式就算大功告成。

這間小小的餐館真是越做越旺,我們也有幫忙訓練一下這班員工呢。上一鍋湯,從數個月前從來不會拿湯舀,即使吩咐一下也有可能拿出一個個人餐具用的湯匙,到今日 (8月20日) 會自動自覺把湯舀送上,也許這就是能夠在這人跡穻至的商場強大起來的原因。

蕎麦麵

周日係日本餐廳嚐過冷麵之後,靈機一觸平時都可以自己下廚煮來吃。之前聽哥哥說煮蕎麦麵跟煮即食麵都差不多,所以才會燃起這個念頭。「心動不如馬上行動」,既然要做,就要做全套,吃畢晚飯後即到超級市場去添置材料。

家中的廚房什麼都沒有,第一次添置材料的投資真是略有點大。$15.8一支500毫升的萬字豉油真的不知道何時才可以用盡。超市就連鵪鶉蛋都有售,這高尚貴價超市果然是名不虛傳。採購完畢,共銀$38,只要吃兩次就可以抵得上在店裏的消費。

豉油完來要差不多要10份油1份水才正常,剛開始時還倒出了很多豉油,試味除了苦了舌頭之外,還浪費掉了。在電視上,薑一拍就碎……我一試就拍飛了,還是狠狠的猛剁算了,原來打機chok掣的技巧在這裏都用得著。麵真的是無難度,只要煮到自以為覺得可以,就真的可以撈起來冰鎮。至於鵪鶉蛋只要慢慢剪下來便行,本來還以為講求什麼技巧。

花了半小時後,上碟~
