Blogger Redirector (WordPress Plugin)
Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008
Contents
A WordPress plugin that accepts the permalinks, post, feeds requests forwarded from Blogger to appropriate page on WordPress. Useful for migrating the traffic from an existing Blogspot site.
Please refer to Migrating from Blogger to WordPress for the walk-through of moving your Blogger. Please let me know if I could improve this plugin in any way.
Usage
This plugin is tested on v2.3, but should works anywhere up from v2.2 or even eariler.
- Download the zip file and extract into /wp-content/plugins/
- In the Admin control panel, goes to “Plugins” and activate the “Blogger Redirector” plugin.
- Done! No extra configuration is needed.
Advanced Usage
- Can I simply show the contents, instead of 301 redirection?
You might modify the variable BloggerRedirector_Use301 in the script to change its behavior. Beware that the search engines will treat it as a standalone page, without knowing that it is an identical copy of WordPress blog. This might or might not have negative effect to the ranking.
Changes Log
v1.0.3 (r30218)
- I didn’t know there was atom.xml and rss.xml. Now fixed these missing feeds redirection. Let me know if there more!
- Breaking Changes: The BloggerRedirector_Use301 is now default to true. I designed to publish it as true in the beginning, but I forgot to do so apparently. Now it’s “true”.
v1.0.2 (r28733)
- The feeds are correctly redirected
v1.0.0 (Before SVN)
- Initial version

There is something very special about wordpress so people like it. most important is its plugin, theme to change and with that all easy blogging in different modes. But am thinking about the people who love Java, whats suitable for them?
Other relative part is all Search Engine covers the best blogs of wordpress, easily and its update is also good. This is why wordpress is attracting abundance. And so is squidoo, hubpages..!

cool that the wordpress plugin will get all your data and info from blogger. I also like to refer Sam Wong’s xLanguageEach plugin - which is language based plugin & I like its special feature that is language can be presented in a different themes.
